Overview of Procurement Act Notices

Each ‘stage’ of procurement will have its own applicable notice(s).

Pre-Procurement Notices

UK1 Pipeline Notice

Purpose: This notice allows suppliers to easily identify and access details of public procurement opportunities on the government's procurement website. 

UK2 Preliminary Market Engagement Notice

Purpose: To engage the market before commencing procurement.  It is mandatory to publish this notice if market engagement is anticipated or has already occurred, and if not, the contracting authority must explain in the tender notice.

UK3 Planned Procurement Notice

Purpose: This notice informs the market of the intention to conduct a procurement exercise.  It aims to provide early information to bidders for proactive engagement.  If published, the minimum days at market can be reduced to 10 days.

UK5 Transparency Notice & Direct Award

Purpose: This notice is published when a contracting authority intends to award a contract without competition, through a direct award / direct negotiation method.

Sourcing and Procurement Notices

UK4 Tender Notice

Purpose: This notice includes details of the procurement opportunity, including elements such as specifications, evaluation criteria, terms of the contract, and pricing schedules.

UK6 Contract Award Notice

Purpose: Used to inform the public of the outcome of a procurement opportunity, including details about the winning bidder(s) and the reasons for their selection.  This notice will also indicate which lots (if any) from a procurement were not awarded.

UK7 Contract Details Notice

Purpose: To inform the public and stakeholders about the contract, including details about the successful supplier, the value of the contract and the scope of the work.

UK12 Procurement Termination Notice

Purpose: This notice is used to inform the public when a procurement process is discontinued or terminated. This can also be used to cancel a subset of awarded but unsigned contracts.

UK13 Dynamic Market Intention Notice

Purpose: This notice details a contracting authority’s intent to establish a dynamic market.  To include information about the needs of the buyer, technical requirements, payment terms and joining instructions.

UK14 Dynamic Market Establishment Notice

Purpose: This notice is used to inform stakeholders that a contracting authority has established a dynamic market following a competitive tendering procedure.  To include information on which suppliers have been admitted and to which parts of the market they have access.

Post-Procurement and Contract Management Notices

UK8 Contract Payment Notice

Purpose: Used to report payments made under public contracts, ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

UK9 Contract Performance Notice

Purpose: This notice provides transparency on the performance of public spend, ensuring that suppliers are adhering to the KPIs set out in their contracts, and that contracting authorities are ensuring that public spend is being allocated to high performance suppliers.

UK10 Contract Change Notice

Purpose: Used to document and publicise any modifications to core elements of the contract.

UK11 Contract Termination Notice

Purpose: To inform stakeholders about the early termination of a contract, including the reasons for termination and the steps taken to mitigate any negative impacts.

UK15 Dynamic Market Modification Notice

Purpose: This notice is used when changes or modifications are required to ensure a dynamic market fully meets the needs of the buyers. 

UK16 Dynamic Market Cessation Notice

Purpose: Used to inform stakeholders that the dynamic market has ceased to operate.

UK17 Payments Compliance Notice

Purpose: This notice is published every 6 months to provide a summary of payments relating to Public Contracts.  It helps to ensure Contracting Authorities comply with agreed payment terms and detail their adherence to the 30-day payment policy.
